Caitlyn Jenner, who was known as Bruce Jenner before her transition, picked up the Transgender Champion award at Glamour’s 2015 Women of the Year Awards.
Caitlyn was joined by her youngest daughter, Kylie Jenner, at the ceremony which held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at New York’s Carnegie Hall. After accepting the award, she said: ‘I’m so blessed I have family.
Not one has abandoned me they’ve been supportive of me, it’s been great. ‘When it comes to gender, everyone in this room is on a journey. We are constantly learning, growing as human beings, learning about ourselves. But there’s a segment of this population that when it comes to gender, there is mass confusion deep down inside.’
‘I’ve had many, many, many years of isolation of hiding from the world, lying to the world, of not being myself.’ Other winners included Victoria Beckham and Reese Witherspoon.
