After the thrill of Ckay’s Love Nwantiti becoming the most shazamed song in the world, Kizz Daniel’s smash hit, Buga, has gone on to extend the legacy for Nigerian entertainers by becoming the latest most shazamed song in the world.
Shazam is a social media application, which automatically helps to identify new songs, by analysing snippets of the song. It is among one of the most prominent marketing tools that has exposed Nigerian music to global audiences.
Bouncing off the springboard of TikTok’s influence, Buga has matured as a party-starting record, which continues to hold fans spellbound across the world, irrespective of age. Even the incumbent Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu has publicly displayed his affection towards the song; he was spotted busting its signature braggadocio-esque dance moves shortly after emerging the APC flag bearer for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Lagos.
Kizz Daniel, who is also known as Vado, also made other feats such as selling out the 20-000 capacity 02 arena, in London, during his Birmingham tour, last year.
Commenting on the outing, the Woju crooner said: “After the London tour, I’ll still be on the road. I want to connect to my fans worldwide. The US Tour is next followed by Africa, Australia, Europe etc.”
